Claims Appeals Specialist

Insurance Overload Services, a National Insurance niche Staffing Provider is currently recruiting for a Claims Appeals Specialist (medical).  The position would involve knowledge of claims and appeals and the handling for provider carrier disputes and claim adjustments.  This position is located in Aurora and the salary will depend on your experience.  This is a contract to hire opportunity

• Research, analyze and determine appropriate outcome for provider carrier disputes
• Update and maintain the claim appeals tracking system and send dispute outcome letters or other correspondence.
• Knowledge of claims payment and record keeping
• Basic understanding of medical terminology, medical procedures, claim forms and CPT/HCPCS, ICD-9-CM, HCFA 1500 and UB-92.
• Perform system testing and provide complete written analysis of results.
• You will assistance with the administrative duties within the department such as the separation of daily mail and the logging of appeals into the claim appeals tracking system.
• Apply due diligence to prevent, detect, and report unlawful and/or unethical conduct by fellow co-workers, professional affiliates, and/or agents.
• Ability to communicate with providers, members, and all departments.
• Skilled in MS Office including Microsoft Excel, Access & Word
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• A minimum of two years healthcare experience.
• Three years claims or appeals processing experience preferred.
