Controller

Located in the D.C. Metro area and focused on providing insurance coverage to taxicabs, limousines, sedans, paratransit/NEMT, this smaller niche carrier focused on their mission of growing to a top, national niche carrier for commercial auto while keeping their customers happy. In the past 2 years the organization has grown from a 2 state to a 9 state carrier and is approved in several additional states.

What is the Opportunity?

The Controller will be a key member of the management team providing leadership and direction to the Accounting Department. The Controller is responsible for…the production of all financial and statutory accounting reports as well as managing and aligning the Accounting department to ensure that all internal and external reporting deadlines are met for a growing multistate, multiline specialty property and casualty insurance carrier.

What we seek:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance.
• 7+ years of statutory reporting experience for an admitted insurance carrier (P&C preferred).
• Ability to lead successful organizational change including the project management and implementation of an insurance ERP system.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
