Regional insurance carrier is looking to hire an experienced P&C insurance controller.  A CPA with 5 to 8 years’ experience could qualify you for this position.  Candidates must have STAT & GAAP accounting expertise and experienced producing the Yellow Book. Familiarity the workers compensation line of business is a big plus. Ideal candidate will be positioned to assume the role of CFO role within a year to 18 months. The successful candidate will interact with state insurance department and regulatory authorities and will assist with forecasting short and long term financial projections.  Duties will include completion or quarterly and annual statutory filings, design development and implementation of accounting controls and the management of the audit process. Looking for someone that will provide a strategic vision and leadership for the company’s financial function.  Must be a hands-on person with the ability to manage and help develop a small staff while assuring the accounting operations function efficiently and effectively unafraid to roll up their sleeves and get down into the trenches when the circumstance warrants.
