Claims - Reinsurance Casualty Claims Examiner

A global reinsurer that attaches great importance to developing the skills of its employees has an opportunity to join the claims team in either New York City or Chicago. This claims professional must have extensive background in the insurance industry, which includes both primary insurance and reinsurance claim handling experience. 

About the Ideal Candidate:

• You will have a high level of technical claim handling ability, particularly as it relates to casualty losses, as well as an in-depth knowledge of reinsurance terms and concepts. 
• Claim Experts are hands-on managers of individual higher exposure/complicated claims; expected to regularly conduct outside claim audits and client visits; initiate regular contact with underwriters, actuaries and accounting staff; and have the ability to review and analyze overall loss portfolios.

What we are looking for:

• 8+ years of combined insurance/reinsurance casualty claim handling experience.
• Expertise in managing a caseload of more complex claims.
• Professional liability (including medical malpractice) and/or credit & surety claim handling experience a plus. Some managerial experience is a positive; this management could involve people, projects and/or accounts.
