Underwriting Consultant - Employee Benefits

From a positive enrollment experience to competing for renewal pricing to daily claims issues, they are there for their customers. The ideal candidate will not be afraid to get their hands dirty on a daily basis to do the little things to make certain each customer is satisfied.

Responsibilities of the Underwriting Consultant:

• Work with clients to develop understanding of their needs and assist with benefit solutions and program recommendations. Gather necessary data and approvals to obtain background information.
• Facilitate committee or departmental meetings as required by the client project needs
• Ensure that vendors are performing services as expected and in the best interest of the Client.
• Track and analyze data, activities or requests needed to provide timely client updates.
• Communicate timelines and interface with Carriers to ensure accurate and timely reporting to the client.
• Schedule annual meetings with vendors; negotiate renewals and contracts, request and present alternative options to clients.
• Conduct research and provide best practice benefits information to clients.
• Develop complete understanding of all benefit programs offered and underwriting guidelines of the various employee benefit Carriers. Maintain awareness of new products developed, program changes or laws and regulations that affect benefit programs and communicate their impact with clients.
