Underwriting Consultant

General Placement Service has been contracted by a highly rated insurance carrier to recruit for a home office level position in New York.  This role will manage a large, profitable book of casualty business that has national scope. 

Our client seeks candidates with line underwriting experience that goes beyond processing a policy. This role will work in tandem with actuarial, product development, claims, and IT in managing the P&L of a set of proprietary programs distributed through a very select network of MGA's.  This role requires the underwriter to be able to underwrite at a very high skill level. 

Have you ever wanted to focus on emerging insurance issues?  Well, that is absolutely what this role will do.  The UW Consultant will manage the book of business and focus on creating new products targeting things like Uber and autonomous vehicles in the passenger auto space. 

To be qualified for this exciting role a candidate must have a minimum of 5 years underwriting experience from a carrier.  This can be multi-line experience.  A bachelor's degree and designations are preferred.
