Underwriter

Our client is currently adding an Underwriter to their team in the Midwest. As an Underwriter, you will work to manage a book of business..  You will build relationships by effectively communicating and negotiating with agents and insureds.  Responsibilities include underwriting accounts by analyzing and evaluating risk, conducting agency visits, and working with other functional areas to develop service plans that are aligned  corporate goals.

This position could be located in South Dakota  or the Twin Cities of MN, however they will also  consider candidates residing in the states of Nebraska, Colorado, Missouri, Minnesota, Kansas , Wisconsin or  Iowa  as  a work from home underwriter.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND OVERVIEW

• Minimum of 5 or more years prior insurance underwriting experience required  
• Experience underwriting Workers' Compensation is a definite plus
• Proven decision making and analytical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Insurance related designation preferred
