Direct Bill Specialist

We’re partnered with a brokerage firm that is seeking a Direct Bill Specialist for their accounting department. The individual will be responsible for reconciling commissions received by markets and make payments to producers on a monthly basis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Reconcile incoming direct bill commission payments
  • Prepare monthly commission payments to producers
  • Prepare monthly commission statements to producers
  • Analyze and reconcile aged direct bill accounts
  • Instruct production staff on invoicing inquires
  • Handle emails and calls regarding direct bill commissions
  • Attend monthly update meeting on all aged open items
  • Maintain producer files in ImageRight
  • Any other assigned accounting responsibilities

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 1 year required, (3 or more years a plus). Associates preferred, and related Bachelors degree a plus.

HARDWARE and SOFTWARE SKILLS

Experience with Excel and MS Suite required.  Must have basic knowledge of accounting software packages. Experience with AIM/AFD desired.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
