The Director of Accounting is a demonstrated leader with an energetic and forward-thinking attitude. A motivated, team-player with experience in all aspects of accounting within the life insurance industry. The primary responsibility of the director is providing leadership to staff and oversight of daily financial operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement policies and procedures to ensure growth of the company
- Prepare monthly financial reports in an accurate, efficient and timely manner
- Monitor budgets and financial plans to meet department and company financial goals
- Coordinate preparation for external audits and tax returns
- Ensure proper maintenance of accounting records and documentation
- Assist in the preparation of business plans and financial forecasting
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 8 + years in a management role
- Bachelor’s degree required
- CPA preferred
- Experience with STAT accounting principles required
