Insurance Placement Solutions has an immediate opening for a First Notice of Loss Claims Adjuster with our client in their Chicago, IL location. As a member of our clients claims team, perform diverse clerical duties requiring thorough knowledge and understanding of all applicable procedures and policies.

First Notice of Loss Claims Adjuster Responsibilities
  • The main function of a Claims Associate is to obtain information from insured or designated persons for purpose of settling claims with the insurance carrier.
  • Organize and work with detailed office or warehouse records, using computer to enter, access, search and retrieve data.
  • Prepare and review insurance claim forms and related documents for completeness.
  • Provide customer service, such as giving limited instructions on how to proceed with claims or providing referrals to other facilities or contractors.
  • Review claims to determine whether or not claimant is covered under a policy, review policy to determine coverage, and evaluate the extent of a settlement.
  • Authorize claim payments, set reserves on payments, ensure timely disbursement of funds, coordinate or conduct investigations on claims, identify claims with possible recovery from third parties, and consult with attorneys, doctors, and agents in regards to the disposition of complex claims.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations.
    • Experience
  • 2+ years experience
  • Experience in any of the following insurance products: AD&D, Critical Illness, Life, Disability, Income Protector, etc.
  • Bilingual Spanish a plus
  • Group claims experience a plus
    • Education
  • High school diploma required
