Job Description

The Allstate Information Security (AIS) department is responsible for managing cyber security at Allstate. This includes Governance/Risk/Compliance, Access Management, Network Security, and Threat Response Services. The department is responsible for ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Allstate systems.

We are seeking a leader to provide direction and oversite for the Threat Hunting team. This role will be accountable for driving a program focused on intelligence-driven network defense with a team of geographically dispersed analysts. Current operations leverage a number of tools and capabilities to review large sources of data to identify threats and issues in the environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the Hunting program, including oversite for strategy, personnel, and findings.
  • Be a champion for the team helping to communicate issues with peers and leadership.
  • Provide prompt attention and visibility into risks, vulnerabilities, and issues serving as an escalation path for team members
  • Provide technical guidance for the team on key hunting activities including hypothesis creation, hunt execution, integration with tools, log analysis and management, etc..
  • Drive metrics and reporting for operations and leadership transparency
  • Closely parttnering with other Cyber Security Operations teams
  • Provide needed action on incidents and outages as necessary to enable effectiveness of the team and its operations
  • Serve as subject matter expert related to Hunting activities and findings.
  • Have the ability to understand and communicate enterprise policy and technical standards.
  • Be able to successfully partner with other security and IT professionals to assess potential impact from Hunting findings within Allstates environment.
  • Identify and recommend appropriate measures to manage and remediate risk and reduce potential impacts on information resources to a level acceptable to the senior management of the company.
  • Providing mentorship, coaching, performance management and support to team members with regard to Hunting, communication/rapport with other divisions and various levels of leadership, technical expertise, and career development.
  • Oversight of onboard and offboard resources
