Job Summary
Performs a broad range of assignments within the Employee Relations department. Responsibilities include assisting and/or managing basic employee relations cases and activities such as accommodations requests, exit trigger investigations, benchmarking of best practices, project management, reporting and data analysis and complex administrative work.

Marketing Description



Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
With some guidance, manages and makes appropriate determinations for employee requests for medical accommodations, including restrictions stemming from leave of absence and general accommodation requests, in a way that ensures all requests are handled in a timely and effective manner that is in compliance with federal and state laws. Acts as a subject matter expert for case tracking system. Manages documentation and case tracking, responds to file requests, serves as records management coordinator. Assists in the investigation of employee complaints regarding alleged violation of company policies, unfair treatment, discrimination, harassment, or other behavior/conduct that is inconsistent with federal, state or local laws or company policy. Collaborates with senior members of the ER team, HRGs, managers, employees and other functional partners including Legal Services, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, HR Operations, Benefits, Leave of Absence Administration, Employee Services Unit, Corporate Security, Corporate Environmental Health and Safety/Ergonomics, Risk Control, Worker's Compensation, etc. on assigned ER matters. Identifies key trends or issues through analyzing Travelers metrics as well as external benchmarking data and then communicating the results/ actionable items to senior members of the Employee Relations team, HRGs, or other functional partners as appropriate. Assists with onboarding activities for new ER team members, HRLDPs and interns. Under general supervision, facilitates process improvements and enables effective change by identifying, recommending and assisting in implementing improvement actions. Participates in projects related to ER priorities, which may include assisting with designing and/or delivering training to HRGs and managers on relevant ER issues. Handles a variety of confidential administrative assignments for VP of Employee Relations which includes: event management for team events, schedule and calendar management, management of vendor payment requests and department purchasing. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma required.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Bachelor's degree preferred. Typically has 1 or more years of professional experience, preferably in Human Resources, Employee Relations, or similar function. Basic knowledge of key employment laws including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Family Medical Leave Act and other federal, state and local regulations.
