About the Role
The Senior Accountant is an immediate job opening with an independent insurance agency headquartered in downtown Chicago. An overview of the job includes:
- Responsibilities: Manage all the day-to-day financial responsibilities of the business with oversight of internal accounting issues related to employee payroll, producer commissions, premium finance companies and insurance company billing departments
- Location: The agency is headquartered in The Loop. COVID protocols allow for a split schedule working at home and in the office. Eventually when the office is fully staffed again this position will be expected to work in the office.
- Compensation: Target salary of $90k-$110k depending on experience
- Education: Degree in accounting or finance
- Experience: Insurance industry experience is required
- Reconcile and adjust various general ledger accounts and bank statements
- Handle operating deposits, premium financing and commission statements
- Process payroll and expense checks
- Assist in preparing monthly reports, annual budgets and forecasts
- Handle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables
