Oil & Gas Refineries Risk Control Consultant

About the Role

Join one of the country’s largest insurance brokers as Oil & Gas Refineries Risk Control Consultant. Supporting their Houston office, you’ll work with the energy team on providing safety, loss control, and risk management to support clients involved in the oil & gas industry. Risk control is a major component of their service delivery model. Expect heavy client interaction with a lot of involvement in relationship building, sales support, and boardroom presentations.

An opportunity to be creative with no rigorous boundaries per client, you can leave behind a cookie-cutter approach to risk consulting with an agency of this size and stature. 

Duties & Responsibilities

• OSHA and DOT Compliance- Education on rules and regulations, record keeping, and on-site inspections
• Workplace Safety- Reduce severity & frequency of claims, institute return to work programs
• Employee Training and Development- Prepare and distribute safety manuals, conduct presentations, and establish injury review processes
• Safety Programs- Onsite inspections, reviews, and surveys; accident investigation, safety orientation, fall protection, fire prevention, and hazard recognition

Skills & Experience

• At least 3-5 years of related safety, loss control or risk consulting within the insurance industry or corporate risk management role
• Experience working with downstream energy operations and oil & gas refineries is required

Job Specs

Travel: Expect frequent travel, mostly by car, with clients concentrated primarily in Houston with some in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and along the coast into Louisiana
