Senior Software Developer

General Placement Service has been retained by a top-rated insurance carrier that specializes in writing Workers Compensation risks throughout the country. They are looking for a Senior Software Developer to produce and implement functional software solutions. You will work with upper management to define software requirements and lead operational and technical projects. In this role, you should be able to work independently and within a team environment. You should have excellent organization and problem-solving skills. Your goal will be to develop high-quality software aligned with end-user needs and business goals.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop high-quality software design and architecture
• Collaborate with senior management and vendors to identify requirements for automating business processes
• Identify, prioritize and execute tasks in the software development life cycle
• Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code
• Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
• Review and debug code
• Perform validation and verification testing
• Accountable for delivering in an agile environment
• Document development phases and monitor systems
• Ensure software is up to date with the latest technologies

 
QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years as a Software Engineer
• 3+ years in the Insurance industry with at least one year of Workers Compensation
• Experience in software development SDLC, scripting, and project management
• Extensive knowledge of .Net Framework with a focus on C#, ASP.Net, and JavaScript
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (SSIS, SSRS)
• Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
