Director of Underwriting - Excess Workers Compensation

Our client is a leading provider of specialty insurance and reinsurance solutions for Workers Compensation risks throughout the country. They are currently seeking a Director of Underwriting to manage their agency partners in the Los Angeles and San Francisco areas. 
 
This role will focus on developing Pubic Entity programs by identifying business opportunities such as school districts, municipalities and social service facilities.
 
Responsibilities:
•Underwrite new and renewal business throughout the specified territory
•Analyze individual risks to determine acceptability of accounts
•Adhere to established underwriting guidelines
•Meet with agents to promote and cross sell company products 
•Collaborate with other departments to ensure company growth and success 
 
Qualifications:
•5+ years of underwriting large, excess and loss sensitive Workers Compensation accounts
•Experience with Public Entity accounts a plus
•Bachelor’s Degree, industry designations preferred
•Ability to travel on a regular basis
