Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?

Business Process Manager, PI Payment & Billing Process Management team, will manage and contribute to the evolution of the PI Operations Strategy in alignment to the overall PI and Enterprise Ops roadmaps. This role would own advancing Business Process Management discipline for PI Payment & Billing process and directing process improvements to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. Responsibilities would include business analysis and business metric performance monitoring, managing and executing opportunities to improve business results, ensuring operational readiness to support successful deployment of Payment & Billing related changes.

This role will provide expert level individual Business Architecture consulting and analytics, generate new ideas, influence senior management of their value and assist in their implementation to realize business benefits. This role is critical to manage portfolio of the initiatives that are executed under Operational Effectiveness related to Payment and Billing process 'Run the business' goals.

What Will You Do?

  • Manage capability and process ownership services for Personal Insurance to improve overall business performance. Identify impediments to effective and efficient operation performance; manage change in business operational processes and organizational behaviors that have a positive impact on bottom line results.
  • Generate new ideas to meet business needs. Develop solutions to complex problems and lead the implementation of recommendations which results in significant improvements in operational performance through redesigned work flows, proper staffing levels, redefined roles and responsibilities, productive behaviors and effective use of technology. Influence stakeholders to implement recommendations.
  • Participate in the development and execution of the PI Ops vision and strategy:
  • -Provide analysis of competitor and industry data to define achievable benchmarks.
  • -Determine appropriate business capabilities necessary to achieve a best in class experience across channels and mediums for acquisition, onboarding and servicing.
  • -Execute and leverage analytics to understand current state business capability performance and inform Interim and Target State strategic design.
  • -Use data to make decisions and control for business changes
  • -Manage execution of road maps, outlining and delivering key milestone activities
  • -Drive CBA discussions around hard and soft benefit realization and monitoring.
  • -Influence with Product Management, Field Sales, Platform, IT, R&D and MI to share findings.
  • Successful execution and delivery of capabilities:
  • -Lead the alignment of in-flight initiatives to road map, coordination of on-going activities to ensure continued alignment.
  • -Partnering with Platform and IT organizations, assist in building project teams to adequately manage delivery.
  • -Adequately and appropriate drive solutions to achieve desired capabilities weighted against business value.
  • -With Platform partners, ensure timely and cost effective delivery of capabilities through active management.
  • -Build and manage (with project business owners) post implementation monitoring and benefit realization.
  • -Recommend improvements to policies, procedures and work flow, including hand offs with Business and IT Delivery Teams.
  • Organizational influence and change management:
  • -Ability to influence key decision-makers to challenge conventional practices and instill customer and analytic insights into decision making processes.
  • -Strong negotiation skills and persuasive written/verbal communication skills to clearly explain concepts and recommendations to leaders, from senior executives to line managers.
  • -An experienced leader with demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility with a wide range of stakeholders; views self as a partner, not individual contributor.
  • -Strategic thinker with an innate ability to balance thought leadership with strong execution orientation.
  • -A natural collaborator; builds and maintains strong and ongoing business relationships which foster connections and communications.
  • Manage business capabilities and processes for PI Operations, taking ownership to identify, prioritize and realize opportunities that drive business benefits. Lead self and project teams to fulfill assignments and delivery. Actively participate in process engineering studies as a project leader or individual contributor
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Strong knowledge of Process improvement techniques and methods.

  • Strong knowledge of Commercial and Personal Lines products and services.

  • Proven analytical skills.
  • Solid Mathematics / Statistics skills.
  • Proficient at using Microsoft desktop tools, especially MS Excel and power point presentation
  • Green Belt or higher Certification or Project Management Certification preferred
  • Knowledge of Business process management tools e.g. Visio for process mapping, data visualizations
  • Knowledge of Billing and Payment process
  • Ability to influence and solve complex problems

What is a Must Have?

  • 4 years of experience in insurance business, products and procedures
  • Prior leadership or project management experience
