Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

$65,000.00 - $107,200.00

What Is the Opportunity?

This position uses data and analytics to drive countrywide underwriting, industry, rules and portfolio business results. Leverage internal and external information to identify quantifiable and actionable opportunities. Responsible for business analysis of data and trends, reporting and monitoring of key underwriting performance metrics, and communication of business results across various audiences. Partner on strategic initiatives to ensure optimal outcomes, including identification of opportunities to improve underwriting results, expand portfolio management capabilities, optimize underwriting model determination and outcomes, and improve underwriting execution, rules management and portfolio controls.

What Will You Do?

  • Uses analytics to understand underwriting model, rule, and underwriting execution outcomes, monitor portfolio management strategies and identify actionable opportunities
  • Contributes to development of tools, techniques and monitoring processes to improve the team's analytical capabilities
  • Uses data visualization and communication skills to effectively present analysis, trends and insights
  • Provides information to help identify and influence underwriting strategy enhancement opportunities
  • Collaborates with Product Management, Small Commercial Business Analytics, Business Model Effectiveness, IT, IM&A, BI UW, BCO and other Business Insurance Markets and functional areas
  • Support (and may lead as appropriate) projects to research, design, and implement strategies, process improvements, and new capabilities

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or Finance preferred
  • 2+ years of analytics or related experience preferred
  • 2+ years working successfully with Microsoft office products or similar products preferred
  • Exposure and some working knowledge of tools such as SQL, QlikView and MicroStrategy preferred
  • Working knowledge of analytic concepts preferred
  • Experience with Descriptive Analytic practices and processes preferred
  • General business knowledge preferred
  • Working knowledge of underwriting, risk evaluation and insurance products preferred

What is a Must Have?

  • Bachelor's Degree and one year of business analytics experience; or equivalent experience required.
