Associate Vice President, Finance- Remote

Global FinTech Company is seeking an AVP of Finance for a newly established subsidiary Property and Casualty insurance company.  This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the accounting department, developing, and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements by performing the following duties.

• Coordinate the company’s financial planning, budgeting, and investment activities. Provide financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations Oversees the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, schedules, footnote disclosures and Management Discussion & Analysis, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Statutory Accounting Principles.  Provide management with short- and long-term financial objectives and policies. Collaborate with external auditors to provide information needed for the annual audit. Maintain knowledge of organizational procedures, federal and state regulations, and accounting standards. Monitors monthly close process to ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting. Maintains work papers for tax provisions, tax footnotes and works closely with the tax accountants on filing of returns. Develops appropriate accounting controls, timelines and procedures. Assist with management of cash flows and invested assets of the Company

Requirements

• 5+ years Property and Casualty experience required including annual Statement Statutory reporting. Strong understanding of STAT and GAAP. Certified Public Accountant designation preferred 6-8+ years of financial leadership experience, preferably in a high-growth startup environment 5+ years’ experience managing compliance and financials in expansions and subsidiaries  Experience managing a Finance team
