Brown & Brown is seeking a Sales Executive to join our Personal Lines team in Carpinteria, California!

*No insurance experience is required!*

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Promote the growth of B&B through the sale of new accounts

  • Develop and pursue cross-selling opportunities in concert with Senior Customer Account Managers

  • Build, expand, and solidify relationships with the customer at all levels within the company and lead appropriate resources to address the customer's needs, including risk and the identification and resolutions of underwriting or policy issues

  • Obtain prospects and actively pursue and create interest by making calls, writing letters, or through personal visits

  • Maintain and actively work a database of active prospects by identifying business needs and proposing company products and services

  • Monitor the level of customer service and assist with claim issues as needed

  • Handle and resolve customer complaints and problems

  • Encourage and coordinate teamwork and communication among those who service customers

  • Set regularly scheduled meetings on a frequency that is appropriate for each customer

  • Assist the Customer Account Managers with the collection of receivables

  • Maintain good relations with carrier personnel

  • Keep current on marketplace changes and inform customers as necessary

  • Become significantly involved and develop expertise in Personal Lines by networking and participating in professional development activities

  • Other duties or special projects may be assigned

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in the field of business or financial related field is preferred with one (1) to three (3) years of related insurance experience; other combination of work and/or education will be considered

  • Basic understanding of insurance and business terminology is preferred

  • Strong, consistent, and assertive communication skills

  • Exceptional telephone demeanor with above average empathy, able to read the subtleties of non-verbal communication and respond accordingly

  • Highly self-confident and able to rebound from the rejection

  • Fluent with Microsoft Windows, Office 365, Word, and Excel

  • AMS360 experience or skills to learn software program at an accelerated ability

  • Must have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality

  • Acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter, and maintenance of minimum acceptable insurance coverages are a requirement of this position

Target Pay: $70K - $100K annually

Compensation is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, and professional experience.
