Insurance Placement Solutions has an immediate opening for a Remote Workers’ Compensation Claims Team Lead with our client. As a member of our client’s claims team, utilize your knowledge of workers’ compensation to independently investigate, evaluate, and resolve assigned claims in order to achieve appropriate outcomes. In this position, you will administer and resolve claims in a timely manner in accordance with legal statutes, policy provisions, and company guidelines.
Workers Compensation Lost Time Claims Team Lead Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of workers’ compensation claims examiners, with the option to delegate duties within the unit.
- Identify and report trends, issues, and recommendations to management. Propose new procedures for continuous process improvement and coordinate office projects.
- Provide technical and jurisdictional guidance on claims adjudication.
- Compile, review, and analyze management reports, taking appropriate action as needed.
- Perform quality reviews on claims to ensure compliance with audit, service contract, and quality standards.
- Review reserve amounts on high-cost claims and those exceeding individual examiner authority.
- Maintain regular contact with clients to foster strong relationships, provide updates, and make claim recommendations; prepare written summaries of specific claims upon client request.
- Ensure claims files are correctly coded and appropriately documented by examiners.
Experience
- 3+ years of experience handling lost-time/indemnity claims as a workers’ compensation claims adjuster
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team lead role
- Must have previous experience handling New York claims
License
- A valid New York adjuster license is required
Education
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
